Sports

In the beginning Sports Activities were started with 29 affiliated colleges in this University. At present 365 Colleges are affiliated to this University for the Sports Activities. This first Games & Sports meet for Men & Women was conducted at Guntur Medical College, Guntur in March 1989 in all the events.

Sports Activities in this University every year for Men & Women:

• Games & Sports meet for Men for all the affiliated Medical Colleges in all events.
• Games & Sports meet for Women for all the affiliated Medical Colleges in all events.
• A separate Cricket Men Tournament for the Medical Colleges.
• Games & Sports Meet for Ayurvedic, Homeopathic, Unani, BNYS and Physiotherapy Colleges.
• Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences 25 Men & Women teams are participating in the South Zone & All India Inter University Tournaments every year.
• University conducts Coaching Camps for all the University teams every year to participate in the Inter University tournaments.

University conducted the South Zone & All India Inter University Tournaments in the following events from all over the Country

• South Zone Inter University Cricket (Men) Tournament at Siddhartha Medical College, Vijayawada in the year 2001-2002.
• South – West Zone Inter University Volley ball (Women) Tournament at Siddhartha Medical College, Vijayawada in the year 2007-2008.
• All India Inter University Archery (Men & Women) Tournament at Siddhartha Medical College, Vijayawada 2008-2009.
• South Zone & All India Inter University Table Tennis (Men & Women) Tournament at Siddhartha Medical College, Vijayawada 2009-2010.
• South Zone & All India Inter University Badminton (Men & Women) Tournament at Siddhartha Medical College, Vijayawada 2010-2011.
• South Zone Inter University Basketball (Men) Tournament at Siddhartha Medical College, Vijayawada for the year 2012-2013 from 19th to 23rd December 2012.
• South Zone & All India Inter University Basketball (Women) Tournament at Siddhartha Medical College, Vijayawada for the year 2013-2014 from 21st to 29th December 2013.
• South Zone Inter University Tennis (Women) Tournament at Siddhartha Medical College, Vijayawada for the year 2015-2016 from 7th to 9th November 2015.
• Our University Cricket (Men) team reached Semi-Finals in South Zone Inter University Cricket (Men) Tournament at Anna University, Chennai in 1987.
• Our University Tennis (Men) team won the gold Medal in the South Zone Inter University Tennis (Men) Tournament at Bharathiar University, Coimbatore in the year 1989-1990.
• Our University Table Tennis (Men) team won the Silver Medal in the South Zone Inter University Table Tennis (Men & Women) tournament at Alagappa University, Karaikudi in Nov 2004.
• Our University Gymnastics Women Team won the Two Gold, Two Silver & One Bronze Medals in the All India Inter University Gymnastics (M & W) Championship held at Kakatiya University, Warangal in the year 2005. Namely
  • Miss. P.Swapna, OSMANIA Medical College, Hyd. 2 Gold & 2 Silver Medals.
  • Miss. M.Sowjanya, K I D S, Narketpalli one Bronze Medal.
• Our University Tennis (Women) Team won the Bronze Medal in the All India Inter University Tennis (Women) tournament at Jadavpur University, Calcutta in the year 2005-2006.
• Our University Archery (Women) team won the highest Gold Medals & Silver Medals in the All India Inter University Archery (Men & Women) championship at Punjab University, Chandhigarh in October 2007. Namely Miss. M.Rishitha, M N R Medical College, Sangareddy four Gold Medals & one Silver Medal.
• Our University Archery (Women) team won the Overall Championship with highest Gold, Silver & Bronze Medals in the All India Inter University Archery (Men & Women) Championship in the year 2008-2009 organized by Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences at Siddhartha Medical College, Vijayawada Namely,
  • M.Rishitha, MNR Medical College, 4 Gold, 1Silver & 1 Bronze Medal.
  • P.Akshara, Dr. S & N R Dental College, Chinnoutpalli two Bronze Medals.
  • Ch.Anusha, Dr. PSIMS, Chinoutpalli one Bronze medal.
• Our University Archery (women) team won the Gold and Silver Medals in the in the All India Inter University Archery (Men & Women) Championship held at M L Sukhadia University, Udaipur in the year 2009-2010.Namely M.Rishitha, MNR Medical College, one Gold, one Silver Medals.
• Our University Badminton (Women) team won the Silver Medal in the South Zone Inter University Badminton (Men & Women) Tournament held at V.I.T University, Vellore in the year 2011-2012 from 5th to 9th January 2012.
• Our University Roller Sports & Roller Hockey Men & Women Team Won the Gold, Silver, Bronze Medals in the All India Inter University Roller Sports & Roller Hockey (Men & Women) Championship held at Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak from 28th to 31st January 2019.
